Desplat on Malick's Tree of Life

Composer Alexandre Desplat, who is working with Terrence Malick on The Tree of Life, gives us a rare (though brief) insight into the auteur's latest film.

Desplat has already composed at least one hour of music for the film "because Terrence wanted to have the music to edit to".

Last year, production designer Jack Fisk said he'd never seen Malick more strong and inventive than working on The Tree of Life and even went so far to say "I think it could change some parts of cinema". The picture is currently slated for release next year.
